This issue relates to determine the impact of coronavirus (Covid-19) on Malaysia's tourismindustry. Coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) is an illness caused by a novel coronavirusnow known as serious acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2; formerlyknown as 2019-nCoV) that was discovered during an outbreak of respiratory illness cases inWuhan City, Hubei Province, China. The tourism industry faces many challenges in a naturaldisaster, terrorism, unstable political climate, global financial condition and crisis (VonBergner & Lohmann, 2014). A crisis is definedas an unstable or crucial time or state ofaffairs in which a decisive change is impending. The Covid-19 pandemic can be categorisedas a crisis because it has slowed or even halted people's mobility from the global to thecommunity level, forced countries to close borders, slowed or even halted goods productionand distribution, and so on. The Covid-19 outbreak has impacted negatively on Malaysia'seconomy, particularly the travel and tourism industry. The tourism industry is encouraged tocontribute to the destination's long-term viability. As a result, internally assessing thebusiness's sustainability is important, especially during a crisis that we know will have asignificant economic impact. According to a McKinsey & Company report written by Cravenet al. (2020), consumers will spend less throughout the year and companies in the sectors thatbeing hit hard will even file for bankruptcy or have to let their employees go. According tothe report, the financial assistance policies will not be enough to deal with the pandemic'segative effects, which could be worse than the global financial crisis during 2008-2009. Itpredicts that the recovery will take some time and will most likely begin in mid-2021. Theabove discussion explores the Covid-19 outbreak towards the tourism industryimpact of the Covid-19 on the tourism industry, methodology, conclusion and implications.
