This module involves the completion of a dissertation and allows students to undertake in-depth and applied research on an academic or practical topic. Students must choose a topicthat they are interested in (related to their pathway and specialist field) and conduct anoriginal piece of research that adds knowledge to the field.

Students are permitted to adopt one of the following dissertation formats: 1) extendedliterature review, 2) dissertation (secondary data) or 3) dissertation (primary data). Theextended literature review requires a detailed and comprehensive review of relevantliterature, with a discussion chapter outlining key gaps in the literature, relevant researchquestions and appropriate methods. The dissertation format will require students tocomplete a literature review, methodology, results and discussion. The analysis for thisdissertation can be either based on primary data (i.e. that which you collect yourself such asa questionnaire) orsecondary data (i.e. data that has already been collected such asstatistics and company reports). Students will use knowledge gained during their MScprogrammes to complete this dissertation. Topic selection has to be related to the disciplineof Business Management.
