Learning Objectives

• To define and understand the competencies of an emotionally intelligent leader in team building
• To understand the connection between emotionally intelligent leaders and emotionally intelligent teams (including virtual teams)

Your Task
Students are to produce an infographic with a written supporting paper, based on the guest speaker’s presentation in Week 6 and theories of EI discussed in class.

Assessment Description
This assessment is in two parts. Part One involves constructing an infographic (visual representation), drawing on the information shared by the Week 6 guest speaker. For Part Two, students are to write a 500 word supporting paper, elaborating on the links between the guest speaker’s presentation and emotional intelligence theories and models as discussed in class.

Assessment Instructions
Attendance at the guest speaker presentation in Week 6 is compulsory and marks will be deducted for lack of attendance.

Part One – Students are to develop a 500 word infographic (visual representation) on the key points the speaker made about the importance of emotional intelligence in the modern workplace. • Part One of the assessment is to be uploaded to Moodle.

Part Two – Students are to write a supporting paper. The paper should highlight the linkages between the key concepts covered by the guest speaker and emotional intelligence theories and models. This paper should include a minimum 3 sources. In addition to academic papers/journals, these can include websites, government publications, census data and newspaper articles. Kaplan Harvard Referencing Style guidelines need to be followed.
