• be able to design and evaluate a training and development program for a specific organizational context; and
• be able to contextualize evolving directions of training and development within Australian organizational contexts, including emerging best practices.
TASK 1
The aged care industry is experiencing strong pressures to reform, from outside and from within. In this assessment, you are asked to prepare a voice over powerpoint presentation in which you:
1. identify and critically evaluate the environmental pressures that are having an impact on aged care providers in Australia,
2. select one aspect of the pressures for reform, and
3. offer recommendations on strategic training responses to three of these pressures.
TASK 2
Using an example of a strategic business issue find an organization that you are familiar with, or in a suitable case study organization that you have found in the public domain, prepare a report in which you:
1. Identify three training and/or development needs related to the strategic business issue,
2. Prepare an outline of a training and/or development program to address one of three needs,
3. Describe the learning theory/ies that underpin the design of your training and/or development program, and
4. Describe how you would evaluate the success of the program.
TASK 3
This assessment has two parts.
1. Using your own career as a case example, prepare a self-assessment tool and a career development plan. Apply the example formats provided in Chapter 9 of your textbook.
2. Reflect on the strengths and limitations of a career management system model in the current business and employment environments.
