The submission is in the form of a portfolio which includes the following components:
1. Project management plan including a work breakdown structure in the form a Gantt chart
2. A completed project Logbook
3. A business case presentation.
The business case presentation is in the form of a 10-minute individual PowerPoint presentation and 5 minutes allocated for questions. The presentation slides and speaker notes should be submitted in the e-portfolio. You are required to make effective use of PowerPoint headings, bullet points and subsections as appropriate. Your research should be referenced using the Harvard referencing system. Please also provide a bibliography using the Harvard referencing system. The recommended word limit is 1,000 to 1,500 words, including speaker notes, although you will not be penalised for exceeding the total word limit.

Introduction to theme:
Equality and Diversity in the workplace
Equality is relevant in all workplaces, regardless of whether the business employs two people or two hundred people, irrespective of whether they work remotely, in an office, a warehouse or on a shop floor. It is about ensuring that everybody has the same access to the same opportunities without any discrimination. Diversity takes into account differences between people and groups of people, by placing a positive value on those differences. A diverse and inclusive work place values people’s different backgrounds, knowledge, skills, and experiences and uses these differences to create a productive and effective workforce.
Managing both equality and diversity is equally important as it impacts on all the employees working in an organization. Business cases have proven that biases and discrimination within the workplace can impede business growth and productivity and therefore, many businesses look beyond any legal considerations and policies to effectively promote equality and diversity to improve productivity, opportunity and competitiveness.

Assessment Brief:
You are appointed as an Administration Executive at a large multinational company. The company has requested you to do a small-scale project, in the form of an investigative research on how have companies responded to current issues of equality and diversity in the workplace. You are required to prepare a comprehensive report in terms of Project Management Plan, analysis of data gathered and to conclude the current issues of equality and diversity in the company.

Task 1
Produce a comprehensive project management plan, milestone schedule and project schedule for monitoring and completing the aims and objectives of the project, covering the following.
Devise project aims and objectives for a chosen scenario.
Produce a project management plan that explains the cost, scope, time, quality, communication, risk and resources needed to complete the selected project.
Produce a Gantt chart to provide timeframes and stages for completion along with the milestone schedule. (Should have at least three milestones for the project)

Task 2
You would like to understand the theory that underpins formal research and want to become more confident using research techniques and methods. Conduct small-scale research, information gathering and data collection to generate knowledge to support the project.
2.1 Carry out small-scale research by applying qualitative and quantitative research methods appropriate for meeting project aims and objectives. You are required to record your weekly activities and achievements on the Project Logbook Template, provide in the Appendix 1. Your weekly log should be presented to your tutor for supervision on weekly basis.
2.2 Critically evaluate the accuracy and reliability of different research methods applied and the project management process in another brief report.
Evidence required for Task 2:
The Project Log book: This is the collection of your all weekly logs covering total time period from the handout date to the submission date. if you would be unable to complete any task during any particular week due to an illness or any other reason, you should still produce the weekly log mentioning such reason.
