Your trainer will:

Introduction

You are required to complete one written task, including five (5) case studies, and a project for CHCECE021 Implement strategies for the inclusion of all children.

In completing the final assessments, you will show evidence of your ability to:

•   promote inclusion

•   respect diversity

•   identify children with barriers to learning

•   develop a plan for support and inclusion

•   implement strategies to meet the child’s additional needs

•   monitor and review strategies.

Project

In the Learner Guide for this unit, you were asked to compile a number of resources in your Resource Kit. It is now time to categorise and extend these resources into a well-organised, up-to-date professional portfolio that you can use in the workplace.

Create a separate folder in your Resource Kit specifically for this topic and provide the following resources as evidence of your learning:

1. Use the template supplied at Appendix A to create a resource list of legislation and regulations that you need to adhere to.
2. An educator could be required to implement strategies to support various children with a range of additional needs. Complete Appendix B to identify some behaviours that children might demonstrate to assist with determining what additional needs the children have.
3. You need to outline how you would support a child with additional needs. Choose one child with additional needs (from Appendix B) and then Complete Appendix C
4. Prepare a short report (200–300 words) on:]

• how an educator supports children who have additional needs.
• how you think your role as an educator could be affected by working with children who have additional needs.
