Hello IT Team,
According to the last ransomware attack that affected your system, I will direct and assist you in order to protect all unattacked systems from being attacked then restore data and recover all applications from the attacked ones as much as possible. As a result of this kind of attack, all data were encrypted by attacked systems, and the data will be vain and cannot use it.
Firstly, we must categorize the systems into three groups depending on their infection status. You can identify each system’s group by following steps A and the diagram ash shown below. Then, please follow the steps as shown below for each group to complete the remediation and get the best of available data. Steps A:
Try to get access to many file types randomly.
In case find any unknown extinction in any file as well as you cannot access the file, that’s means, the file data is encrypted, and you have to follow step B.
In case you can get access to data, and you find everything is normal, that means the system isn’t encrypted but you need to make a complete scan with two strong different anti-virus software.
Once getting a complete scan of the system, check on the result and follow step C if you find any file infected, otherwise go to step D.
Steps B
Disconnect all drives from the encrypted systems.
Wipe the drive with the fast option.
Recover all the data from the drive using recovery tools.
Steps C
Disconnect all drives from the infected systems.
Connect the drives externally to a machine that is not connected to the company’s network and has two different antivirus software.
Copy the date from the drives to another drive but copy only the required data extensions.
Steps D
Monitor these systems daily.
If you received any bad logs from any system, follow the steps C with this system.
