Write a review paper suitable for publication in a peer-reviewed scientific journal. Example journal for formatting style: Journal of Radiology, BJR etc. 

Guidelines: 

• You may choose any topic relevant to Medical Radiation Physics. Topics must be specific (i.e. not a general review on CT, radiotherapy or nuclear medicine etc. ). 

o Specialised imaging/therapy modalities 

o Imagining site/technique/application 

o Therapy site/technique/application 

• Discussion of the physics involved should only make up approx. 25% of the paper, if you are writing on a clinical application 

o This is a discussion of a clinical topic, clinical data should be the focus of the paper, use the physics to support this (i.e. help the reader understand the topic) 

• Number referencing system or Harvard referencing system can be used 

• The report must be written in 12 point Times Roman font using double spacing. 

• The recommended word limit is 2500 words, but do not exceed 2600 words. 

• The essay must be submitted online through Turnitin (upload link will be active couple of weeks before the due date). 

• The similarity index should be less than 20%, above that may attract penalties. 

• The essay MUST contain all the sections outlined in the marking scheme (where appropriate to your topic). 

• You should consider the recentness of your research data when writing this paper. 

If your data is from decades ago be wary of what conclusions you draw from it if the technology/treatment has changed since then (highly likely!) 

• Note that the standard Late Submission Mark Penalty of 10% per day applies in this course unless prior arrangements have been agreed with the Course Coordinator.
