Assignment Task:

The following five tasks are to be compiled into a single document and submitted online. The tasks are to be completed in a group of up to four students. There is a 5000-word limit, excluding references. I suggest 1000 words per task but you can adjust this if needed – do not exceed the 5000-word limit as this may not be marked. APA 7th referencing is required and references have to be included for each task. Credit will be given for the level and depth of research and critical analysis. The marking rubric is available on Blackboard for your guidance. 

You need to work on all the tasks as a group and keep a record of your meetings and discussions. You may be asked to produce these records, and use these to reflect on how you worked as a group. 

Choose a group captain who will be responsible for submitting the assignment: 1. through Turnitin to check originality and 2. submitting the final version through Blackboard. 

Only the group captain should submit the assignment. Include all group member names and student numbers on the assignment. Prior to the Final Submission use the Turnitin originality link to check your work. 

Complete the following 5 tasks: 

1. Define the term Industry 4.0. Investigate the technologies that are involved in Industry 4.0 and present an analysis of its impact on business performance and business processes. 

2. Find an example of an ethical dilemma relating to information systems. Examine the difficulties in reaching a resolution, differences of opinion and different ethical principles. Outline how the situation could be resolved. You can use the method for ethical analysis outlined in the text (p160) to guide your discussion. 

3. Bob, the owner of a small auto mechanics business, employing 3 full time mechanics, has approached you for advice on how to keep track of his customers, the jobs he completes on their vehicles, who has carried out the work and the supplies he uses. He would also like to send reminders to customers when their car service is due. He is currently using spreadsheets and a paper-based filing system to store this information. Bob is currently the only person who can find and update the information. 

Describe the most appropriate solution and its advantages, and explain how you would design such a system. 

4. Read the following reports from thee Australian Cyber Security Centre: 

Discuss the role of people (Human Safeguards) in the reports and the corrective and/or preventive actions that are recommended by the Australian Cyber Security Centre. 

Put forward your views on the appropriateness and effectiveness of the actions/recommendations. Use further references to support your view. 

5. Investigate the impact of mobile applications on the retail sector. Examine the implications on the retail industry in general, the impact on retailers, strategic objectives, business processes and competitive advantage, and the impact on customers. Also consider the implications for future development. Use case examples and references to support your analysis.
