Scenario:
Sally contacts plumber to do the plumbing on her heritage listed property. She recently bought the property and has to do extensive renovation, to make the property liveable.
The initial quote for the plumbing work is $12,000. The quote is given to Sally by Bruce, who introduces himself as 'the business owner.' The quote is verbal and Sally says "l will think about it."
About a week after Sally meets the plumber, she receives an email from "Geiter Pty Ltd" which says: "We refer to the quote provided to you. See attached terms and conditions. Please confirm when you are ready to proceed." Sally emails back a couple of days later: *Yes, ready to go ahead, as discussed. Can you start Friday?" She never opens the email attachment with the terms and conditions.
