Part 1: Laboratory Participation

Attendance at on campus clinical laboratory or residential school will be recorded. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure their student identification is scanned on arrival and departure from the simulated clinical laboratory to record their attendance. Students are required to complete the planned learning activities in the Laboratory Workbook (linked to Study Desk). This will include a medication administration peer assessment, care plan and progress notes for simulated patients in the laboratory. Students will be required to submit the following as evidence of their participation in the laboratory (these must be signed by the laboratory teacher following feedback).

3. Completed Care plan.

Part 2: Clinical Skills Appraisal

For this part of the assessment, students will be required to write a 750 word essay, appraising the performance of a basic wound dressing using the “simple wound dressing” clinical skills appraisal form.
