Assignment Task
Description
This case study allows you an opportunity to dig deeper into leadership within the arts and cultural sector. The question you are seeking to respond to is:
How is leadership enacted in your case study organisation?
You will start by looking broadly at leadership and then concentrate your focus on one particular arts organisation and the ways leadership is enacted within it.
In this regard you will be making connections between leadership theory and leadership practice. This is important for your own development as a leader (or emerging leader) in this sector.
In researching for this task, you will seek out a wide range of ideas and perspectives on leadership. This will require time and highly developed information literacy skills – knowing where to search, which are the most appropriate sources to use, how many sources to draw from, and how to keep good records so you can cite the wide range of literature you use in your case study. You may also engage with others directly – seeking information from those engaged in leadership within your chosen organisation.
In crafting your case study, you will engage in analysis, reflection, evaluation, and synthesis as you make connections between broad understandings of leadership and its enactment with the organisation you have selected.
In editing your work, you will consider the most appropriate ways to communicate your ideas/analysis/recommendations. You will ensure you have structured your case study according to the guidelines below and you will write with clarity, accuracy, depth, and precision.
In proofreading your work, you will eliminate as many errors as you can, ensure your ideas are supported and evidenced accurately, and check your work carefully for meaning: have you written what you think you’ve written?
