Care plan and rationale
You are required to set out a plan of care for Peggy. Poppy is a 7-year-old girl who has been referred by the family GP to the general paediatric outpatient department for investigation into enuresis. She does not have a urinary tract infection. Whilst Poppy became ‘dry’ in the day at aged 2 and a half, she has never been entirely dry at night (Although she did have a dry period between they age of 5 and 6) She now wets the bed most nights, and will not go to sleepovers at friends’ houses due to worrying about wetting the bed. She has recently started Brownies but is refusing to go to an arranged Brownie sleepover scheduled in 4 months’ time as is worried about bed wetting and the other Brownies finding out. Mum did not bring Poppy to her 1st scheduled appointment. On arrival with mum, Tracy to her appointment, it is clear both appear quite anxious and Tracy apologised for missing last appointment stating ‘’things are so stressful at home I just forgot’’ Poppy seems shy and clinging to Mum. Also, you do notice a slight aroma of urine as you sit next to Poppy.
