This unit aims to provide students with an understanding of the role of clinical leadership and management specific to the challenges faced by nurses working in various clinical environments. Emphasis will be placed on the following topics: conceptualising leadership; theoretical perspectives on leadership; power, authority, providing examples from contemporary practice on how nursing leadership can be the catalyst for change.
