As per policy and procedure Suprapubic catheters and Indwelling catheters need to be changed 1 to 6 weekly depending on the advice of their attending Medical Officer and/or Continency Nurse that comes to change the catheter. Evidently. In the last 2 years according to the audits through the Infection Register which can be accessed online, majority shows Urinary Tract Infection with MRSA positive in their urine when the result of Midstream Urine (MSU) conies buck from pathology.
