(2017, p. 1154) asserts that CAUTIs in aged care home clients is a widespread cause of sepsis, hospital admission, and antimicrobial use take up the lead to colonization with multidrug-resistant organisms. CAUTIs in critically ill clients and older clients can produce bacteremia which is one of the important sparks of mortality and morbidity and suitable standard precautions could prevent these infections (Assadi 2018b, p. 50). Thus, it is imperative for staff to know the infection control practices associated with management of indwelling catheters to prevent CAUTIs.
