FSO has a higher resolution than RF communication and FSO can be used for longer distances communication with high data rate transmission, and high bandwidth communication. However, the transmission in FSO is dependent on the medium because the presence of foreign elements like rain, fog, and haze, physical obstruction, scattering, and atmospheric turbulence are some of these factors cause issues in the FSO communication. Therefore, we are proposing a hybrid scheme of FSO with RF in 5G so RF can work as a backup system in hard conditions for the FSO. 5G uses RF radio wave communication, which is reliable, also work perfectly with 5G radio unit RU communication to the end-user EU. 5G RF communication can be activated or switched-on when FSO is not working properly, or weather condition does not allow the full utilization of it. This hybrid combination can be used in many applications. Satellite to Satellite communication, satellite data unit SDU communication, autonomous cars communication, airplane to satellite communication, and AI, VI, IoT can be considered as a potential candidate for a such technology.
