This report aims to undertake a current economic analysis of Australia in relation to Covid-19 and the international marketing impacts on the brand Nippys, looking specifically into their orange juice product.

Key strategic issues

The outbreak from Covid-19 in Australia created highly uncertain situations for both businesses as well as the Australian government.  In response to the pandemic, Australia have restricted the movement of people across borders, the results have been major disruptive to the economic activity across the world. Global economic growth plummeted in March 2020, and fiscal support schemes were implemented along with lockdowns and social distancing policies to combat the spread of the coronavirus (Lim et al., 2021). 

Overall, Australia is a small open economy and is materially affected by developments abroad- through trade in goods and services. (Lim et al., 2021) 

According to Statista, revenue in juice segment amount to US$2,176M in 2021, and is expected to grow annually by 2.93% (Juices – Australia | Statista Market Forecast, 2021)

Recommendations are congruent with analysis

A way to success is to have solid and convincing product, this way the product can generate a competitive advantage which will differentiate the product and services from ones already on the market. Nippy’s demonstrates this by through several different characteristics of their business. 

The Australia-United States Free Trade Agreement ensures greater access to the United States market for Australian products. The US is the largest and richest consumer market, making this an ideal location to invest. 
 

The United States is Australia’s largest foreign investment destination, accounting for 28% ($719 billion) of Australia’s total overseas investment stock in 2018. (Australia-United States FTA, 2021)
