1. What methods can you use to identify potential sources of information for your research into your chosen essay topic.
2. Identify three key words which you could use in a keyword search of your library catalogue for your essay topic.
3. Use Boolean operators to improve your search phrase.
4. Read the ALS handout entitled ‘Library and Researching Guide’ pages
5. Go to EBSCO Host in Moodle. It is located in the Academic Research Centre.
6. Undertake the keyword search of the EBSCO Host database.
7. Evaluate the sources found. (Use the checklist in Slide 22 of this weeks lecture)
8. Identify and list at least five potential sources of information (other than the textbook) that could be used to develop an essay on the topic you choose.
9. List your sources in the form of a reference list in a word document using the Harvard Australian method of referencing. (Refer to the ALS student guide “Referencing”.
10. Submit your reference list in the Tutorial Activities submission link for Week3
