You have just commenced an internship with the RICKETTS GROUP. After completing the two day corporate induction, you have are shown to your workstation. On arrival you see that your desk is covered with boxes including your new company computer, desk telephone, mobile phone and a brand new ergonomic chair that still has the plastic cover on it. On your desk is a set of folders containing many office documents. One of the folders is the RICKETTS GROUP Style Guide. The Style Guide outlines what is acceptable and not acceptable when planning and presenting documents and presentations. In a general sense it outlines the design, colours, fonts, diagrams and images that an employee can use when they are developing resources.

Before you even have time to unpack your computer and set up your desk, Peter Cusack, your new manager has invited you into his office. He gives you very quick welcome talk and outlines his expectations of you whilst working in his department.

Immediately after, Mr. Cusack gives you your first task, and explains to you that you have been selected along with ten other interns and graduates to give a 15-minute presentation to a group of company employees. This presentation will also make up part of your professional development review.
