Overview
For ASR208 there are 5 journal entries that are to be completed. These are to be done in two
batches of 3 and 2 respectively and are due at the end of weeks 7 and 10. These can be on any
of the weekly discussion questions, which can be found in the module outline for each week
on the cloud site. The entries can be between 200-300 words and Harvard in-text referencing
is the required style. The in-text references are included in the word count, but the reference list
is not counted.

Approach
These are meant to be academic in style and not simply based on personal opinion. The central source that the entries are to be based on are the readings from the selected week. This does
not preclude the inclusion of other relevant material. However, the readings should be the starting point.

Treat the entries as short form essays. Look to address the question directly, avoid ‘waffle’, and then support your contention with evidence from the relevant weekly readings. Then
briefly sum up your key point/s at the end in a couple of lines at the most. In other words, the entries should have an intro, middle and conclusion, but the intro and conclusion should be in short form – again a couple of lines at most.
