Self-assessment is here understood as the ability of a health professional to reflect on their own strengths and weak- nesses in order to identify learning needs, review performance, and learn from errors and shortcomings to become a more effective, efficient, ethical and caring professional. This assignment intends to help students initiate the journey of constant self-reflective practice that leads to continuous personal development and professional improvement.

Task
Students will write a short self-reflective piece where they will reflect on an incident/experience that happened during their studies and that had an impact on them. Students will use the 5Rs Reflection model and are required to engagement with the academic literature to address the 5Rs requirement of reasoning and reconstruction. In their reflection of the incident/experience students need to address the following questions:
1. What have you learned in your postgraduate journey that may help you reflect on this particular incident/experience?
2. What have you valued during this period, inside and outside your course?
3. In what ways has this experience changed you and the way you see the world?
4. In what ways has this experience changed your practice (or will do)?
5. How can Bourdieu’s concept of social capital, habitus and field help you develop your professional practice?
The reflection needs to be written as an essay and does not need to be divided following the structure above, but it needs to address these points within the text.

Task
Think of your “dream employer”- the organisation/company you aspire to work for one day. Think also of the role you would like to take there, but do not make it a too far-off dream. For instance, do not go for WHO’s CEO yet! Think of an entry-level position at an organisation that you truly feel you would have the skills to fulfil the position requirements.
Your task is to write a capability statement where they will describe in a concise but convincing way your skills. You should focus on: 1) what you can do; 2) what you know; and 3) what is the evidence to show you can do and know what you stated for points 1 and 2.

You should:
1. Include a values statement, and articulate your ethical position as a health professional
2. include aspects related to your social, cultural and intellectual capital, including experiences relevant to the position
3. connect “science”(i.e. academic knowledge gained in your course) to practice in the field, and how you have developed expertise in relation to your professional field. The idea here is to think critically about the field and what are the things that matter for an ethical health practitioner, using academic references to support your claims and ideas
