Choose a Federal/State or Territory policy which is targeted at Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in Australia. This will be the same policy you choose should be the policy you will focus upon for your final report. You will need to research the following:
-Which policy model do you think could have been used to develop this policy and why?
-What was (were) the issue(s) that brought about a perceived need for such a policy?
-What was the agenda behind it (why was it brought in)?
-Is there evidence to show the effectiveness or otherwise of this policy?
-Does this seem to be a sound policy or are there problems with the thinking behind it? Are you aware of any unforeseen effects?
The purpose of this short paper is to orientate you to the general aspects of the policy process you will analyse in the final part of Assessment 3. Work in this assessment can be incorporated into Assessment 3 as needed.
