Lynda is a former soldier of the Australian Defence Force who was involved in a serious explosion where she lost her team. Since being medically discharged from the army, she has been hospitalised a number of times for delusions linked to her military experience.
Lynda now works part-time as a rideshare driver. Lynda enjoys chatting to her passengers but occasionally her paranoia makes her suspicious of her passengers, and she thinks that they are ‘enemy agents’.
After finishing his late-night shift as a security guard, Derek requests a ride and is picked up by Lynda. Initially they make small talk about how their evening has been so far, and then fall into a companionable silence.
A while later, Derek notices that Lynda has started giving him strange looks in the rear-view mirror. Lynda suddenly asks Derek who he works for. Uncomfortable, Derek tells Lyntielissafiginwitayer.
