In order to be profitable and successful, major companies often go through organisational changes such as business process restructuring. The objective of this study was to explore the prospect of enhanced employee performance through business restructuring at Dataxis. The factors influencing the business process restructuring together with the impact these would have on the employee performance were examined. Business process restructuring and employee performance are vital to a company in order for it to realise its goals and long-term objectives. The data used for analysis was gathered through the means of interviews and results were examined using the NVivo version 12 Plus.

The findings of this study emphasize the importance of employee performance towards the business process restructuring. Several factors influence the current business process including the speed of internet, update of the software, and lack of motivation and innovation. The responses received revealed that these factors should be taken into consideration prior to the implementation of the business process restructuring, the chances of the restructured process being a successful one were much higher.  

It is recommended that the management enhances its communication plan now as the business process restructuring is being rolled out and that it provides more support to its employees by being readily available to discuss demands and changes needed. Moreover, additional rewards and benefits could be offered to employees in order to motivate them to take on the restructured process. With the change already in progress and the success depending largely on the employees, the management will have to take into consideration the requests of employees in order to turn the business process restructuring into a successful one.

The qualitative approach was used in this study. The researcher needs to conduct interviews or focus on group discussion to obtain data. In this method, data is collected in a non-numerical format and may include open-ended questions and also focus groups (Creswell, 2013:281). One main advantage of employing this approach is that during the data collection period, contextual information is collected. The purposive sampling method was used and a sample size of 12 respondents. A pilot study was carried out for experimenting and testing of data. The literature review comprises of extensive research on related literature, a discussion of employee performance, business process restructuring and its efficiency.
