This module will enable the student to demonstrate a critical understanding of the complexity of systems, the impact of organisational culture and the challenges of delivering innovation and change in organisations operating within the health and care sectors
It will consider relevant learning outcomes , its critical application and case studies to seek to understand the challenges of leading within complex systems and services.
Students will use this understanding to critically evaluate the impact on systems, organisations and teams delivering services to patients and service users.
Module Learning Outcomes
There are four learning outcomes for the module and by the time you have completed it, it is envisaged that you will be able to:
1. Demonstrate a critical understanding of complex systems and the key concepts in systems thinking and complexity and their application within the health and care sectors
2. Demonstrate a critical understanding and analysis of the challenges of leading change and innovation across complex systems within health and care
3. Demonstrate a critical understanding of the factors which contribute to organisational culture on and within health and care organisations
4. Reflect critically on the key concepts of power, culture and influence and their application and impact across systems and at the different levels of organisations
